Barber in Third for USACs Silver Crown

San Francisco, CA - - Tim Barber's first full season with the USAC Silver Crown Series has been a learning experience that he and his team have certainly mastered quickly.  In 2006 they ran a limited schedule only running on the asphalt tracks that the series visits and finished the year eighth in the points.  In the 2007 Silver Crown Series with 10 of 14 events complete Tim is in third place in the championship and has put his team in fifth in the Entrants points' battle.

With four events left in this year's series there is excellent opportunity for Tim, who is only 25 points out of second place, to challenge and move up before the series concludes in November at Phoenix International Raceway after a long break in the rapid action of four races in September.

A highlight of the year thus far for Tim was returning to Anderson Speedway for its 59th running of the "Little 500" in May.  Tim qualified 3rd in a field limited to 33 starters made up of the finest sprint car drivers in the country.  Tim lead the field for 160 of the 500 laps, finishing 5th.
