Tim Barber will be running the full 2007 USAC Silver Crown Series thanks to Pierson Racing  acquiring a dirt track car to complement the pavement car they ran in a limited schedule in 2006.  Even with the limited schedule in 2006 the Barber and Pierson Racing combination netted two third place finishes.

The 2007 Silver Crown schedule has 15 events on the card with the first and last event in Phoenix beginning on the dirt at Manzanita Raceway and ending at Phoenix International Raceway.

The opening round at Manzanita was held February 9-10.  With the early season start and the newly acquired chassis arriving less than a week before the event the Pierson Racing team found themselves scrambling just to make it to the event.  As expected with new equipment, there were surprises but Tim was able to finish the race, although in 17th position.

The second round of the series took place March 23-24 on the pavement of Homestead-Miami Speedway.  Tim had finished third here last year and was looking at improving this record especially with the new engine Pierson Racing had placed in the car, but it was not to be.  He qualified seventh and finished sixth and placing him eighth in the 2007 USAC Silver Crown Championship.

The calendar is empty for the month of April providing the Pierson Racing team with time to thoroughly go over both cars for the remaining 11 races.  Tim is looking forward to the next event, May 5 at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
