Barber finished third for the second straight race, taking the No. 28 Eibach Springs/Shaver Motors C&R, owned by Ken Pierson Racing to a podium finish.

“It was great to be here at Kentucky,” Barber added. “I have to thank my car owner Ken Pierson. We’re all happy to be in this position.”

The San Francisco, Calif. driver passed Brian Tyler on Lap 54 of the 67-lap race and was catching Reutimann for second when he dropped a cylinder with just a couple laps to go.

“Bud had it covered,” Barber said. “Everyone started running hard and we were burning up their tires so we decided to ease up a bit with 25 laps to go. With a couple laps to go, we dropped a cylinder and that sealed our chances.”

Barber had started fifth in the race, a career best.
