On Sunday, August 21, 2005, Tim Barber clinched the 2005 Trans-Am Series GT America season championship. This is the second time Tim has claimed the series championship in as many attempts.
October 10, 2005 Tim Barber qualified third and finished third at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday in the Valveoline USAC Western Sprint Car Championship. This moved him to second in the overall season championship, just 49 points back from first.
The last race of the season is back at Irwindale on November 24 where it is possible for Tim to claim his second series championship this year. Tim has already won the Trans-Am Series GTA Championship for 2005.
